Our Story

2011-2014

Adam and Lucy’s journey began at Providence College several years ago, where they developed a love of Providence, Rhode Island and all things Friars.

As just friends-from-afar in college, their paths crossed only briefly. In 2014, Adam graduated and moved to DC to start his career in the mortgage industry and Lucy graduated a year later and moved back to Boston to pursue her career in healthcare technology.

2021

Fast forward seven years later, their paths crossed again - this time in an unexpected place and not so briefly.

With the pandemic shutdown in 2020, Adam made his way to warmer weather, signing a multi-year apartment lease in Miami.

Meanwhile, after spending time at home in New England with her family, Lucy decided to spontaneously get an apartment in Miami for the month of February 2021. Her plan was to host friends and family, enjoy the warm weather, and move back to Boston in March.

Through social media and their Friar network, Adam and Lucy soon realized that they were both in Miami. (Adam loves this next part) - on her second day in the new city, Lucy was the one to reach out to invite Adam to dinner with her and a friend.

They ended up meeting up that night, then the next night, and the next day…and, after just two weeks and countless dinner and beach dates, Lucy extended her apartment lease.

After just a few more weeks, the couple started officially dating and have been enjoying their Miami adventure together ever since.

2024

3.5 years later. Adam proposed on November 2nd, 2024 along the harbor in the Boston Seaport so they could celebrate with her family and close friends!
